
The life of neurosurgeon Jean Askenasy, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy, is one of horror. Born in Bulgaria, living in Paris, he retired to Romania, where he became a good citizen. A doctor with great gratitude from his patients, he was sold by Ceaușescu to Israel, after he wanted to leave for his native country.
