The Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, received Moshe Arbel, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the State of Israel, and the family members of Israelis of Romanian origin held hostage in Gaza on Friday, December 15, at the Victoria Palace, with whom he discussed the security situation in the region. . The Prime Minister expressed his sympathy for the grieving families and reiterated Romania’s solidarity with the State of Israel and the Israeli people.
These days, in Bucharest, a special visit is taking place: two Israeli families whose family members – with dual Romanian and Israeli citizenship – are being held hostage in Gaza, are asking for Romania’s support to join Israel in speeding up the release process to all the hostages.
The families are accompanied by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the State of Israel, Moshe Arbel, and the visit included meetings with Luminița Odobescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Cătălin Predoiu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs. The officials emphasized the good level of cooperation between our countries. Both the Israeli Minister of the Interior and the families expressed their appreciation for Romania’s solidarity shown in the context of the barbaric attack launched by Hamas, and the Romanian side thanked the Israeli authorities for the support given in order to repatriate the Romanian citizens who were in Israel and Gaza at the beginning of the war.
