(abstract)
In 2011, NLP senator Viorel Badea proposed in the Romanian Senate a bill celebrating the Romanian Language Day and it passed as Law No.53/2013 valid since 19 March 2013. It was a gesture full of significancy and a symbol of unity of Romanians the world around. The Romanian Language Day is celebrated each year on August 31st.
The Romanian Parliament decided, at the innitiative of the representative of Ukranian minority, a Day Ukranian Language in Romania every 9 November (Law No.213/2018).
For the 28 million speakers of Romanian in the world, adopting the Romanian Day as a second National Holiday was meant to reinforce the connection between all the communities of Romanians or Romanian speakers.
